Medical Insurance (Health Coverage)
Avalon Health Care has provided a variety of group health insurance plans designed to assist employees and their eligible dependent(s) with their health insurance needs. Management and professional level full-time employees, such as RNs, are eligible for health insurance the first of the month after thirty (30) days. (For other eligible employees, it is the first of the month after 90 days.)

401 (k) Program
Avalon offers employees the option of a traditional, pre-tax deferred, 401(k) or a post-tax Roth 401(k). If you are 18 years of age or older, you may roll-over your previous 401 (k) plan into Avalon’s 401 (k) plan.
Flexible Spending Account (Section 125)
A flexible spending account allows employees to pay for qualified medical, dental, vision and child care expenses with pre-tax dollars. This benefit is offered through
Voluntary Life/ Accidental Death & Dismemberment/ Long Term Disability Insurance
Avalon provides basic life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) at $10,000 and $5,000 depending on the position held, at NO COST to the employee. Ability to purchase Supplemental Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D), and Long Term Disability upon eligibility period. These benefits are provided through UNUM

Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement
At Avalon, we know that part of keeping employees satisfied is giving them the opportunity to learn and advance within the organization. That’s why Avalon offers Tuition Reimbursement Program/Educational Assistance Program. One (1) year full time company employment is required to participate. The employee must have an approved Educational Plan. The Program pays for books, tuition, and fees up to a maximum reimbursement of $1,250 annually.
Paid Time Off
Avalon offers paid time off to all part-time and full-time employees. Paid Time Off is accrued based on your job classification and length of service. PTO is accrued and available to use during an employee’s first year of service. After one year of service, a typical Full-Time employee will accrue up to 19 days of Paid Time Off in a full calendar year of employment, including six (6) paid holidays. Administrator, Director of Nursing positions, and Regional Positions accrue at a higher rate and can accrue up to 24 days of Paid Time Off and Holidays (combined) in a full calendar year of employment.
